Nosferatu 1922 yılında Almanya'da çekilen Alman Dışavurumculuğu akımının başyapıtlarından ve korku sinemasının sayılı klasiklerindendir. F. W. Murnau'nun yönettiği filmde Max Schreck, vampir Kont Orlok rolündedir. Filmin orjinal Almanca adı Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens yani Nosferatu, Bir Dehşet Senfonisi'dir. Film, 1921 yılı ile 1922 yılı arasında çekilmiştir. Bram Stoker'ın Drakula romanının uyarlamasıdır ve telif ödenmeden yapıldığı için yayından kaldırılmıştır. Nosferatu filminde, Bram Stoker'ın filminden farklı olarak vampir Kont Orlok'tur. Bram Stoker'ın Drakula'sında ise vampir kontun adı Drakula'dır. Thomas Hutter, Almanya'nın Bremen'e bağlı Wisburg adlı küçük bir kasabasında, karısı Ellen ile birlikte yaşamaktadır. Transilvanya'da yaşayan Kont Orlok'tan bir mektup gelir. Bazı sembollerle dolu bu mektubu, Renfield adlı kişi Hutter için okur. Hutter, zengin Kont Orlok ile emlak anlaşması yapmak için Transilvanya'ya gidecektir.

Group sex, nude dancing and pretty ladies wrestling in their underwear are the results, along with several long, seemingly impromptu scenes where the characters talk endlessly and in circles.
